As founders, we were inspired to create a solution we wish we had. We wanted to be in control of our own happiness in this new city but did not know where to start. From dealing with culture shock to information gaps, settling and integrating into a new community is a herculean task indeed.
As an international student at the University of Birmingham, I was not left out of the typical relocation hurdles and general uncomfortableness that most of us experience when moving to a new and unfamiliar place. One reason why moving is so stressful is because of all the major changes happening. It only makes matters worse if you’re leaping into the unknown. Moving to a new and unfamiliar place is a big deal—even when we aren’t in the midst of a global pandemic.
What does the process look like right now?
The challenge in getting quality and reliable services and finding what you need at the right location and time is humongous.
If you’re planning to move right now, you’re going to go on Google search. To get an exact price, you have to sit with multiple companies and spend about 45 minutes to get a quote. Then you’re going to find a lead aggregator or a couple of moving companies. Now after you enter your personal details, probably two minutes after, you’re going to see an influx of calls that won't necessarily meet your requirements.
